Rev Patrick McGlinchey (Chaplain)

Paddy (as he is affectionally known) is the Chaplain at the Centre and Minister of the Church of the Resurrection. He is warm friendly and helpful, particularly in matters relating to University life, always available for a chat or even a lively debate on almost any given subject – even pop music! Paddy can be found in his office, around the Centre or even indeed doing an occasional stint in the Oasis Café!

Paddy is married to Helen, has three teenage sons – Paul and Patrick (17) and Tim (14) and a dog called Rocky (2). The McGlinchey family live in No. 20.

Erika Frank (Chaplain's Assistant)

Erika Frank is the new lay-assistant chaplain for 2007-2008. She lived in the Centre during her final year in 2006. She is now doing an MA in Modern Literary Studies at Queen's University and while she lives and works at the Centre.

Hailing from Llangwnnadl, Wales, Erika was a missionary in the Philippines where she worked with prisoners, even visiting inmates on Death Row.

Erika has a degree in English so if you would like any essays proof-read just let her know! She is also there for a chat, accompanied by a cup of tea.

Dorothy McGowan (Domestic Bursar)

Picture of Dorothy McGowan

Dorothy is the Domestic Bursar – she looks after all the finance in the Centre and basically keeps the Centre going. She can be found in the Office where the door is always open for solving problems, paying bills, receiving fees and most importantly – having a laugh! Dorothy has a real heart for the students and loves to encourage them.

Since this site was initially published in late 2006, Dorothy has retired, and we have a new Bursar, called Flo! Flo will have a profile on next year's website.

Margaret Wilson (Secretary)

Margaret is the Chaplain’s secretary and helps him with the Admin work in the Centre, minutes of meetings, orders of services and all correspondence and student records. She can also be found in the Office where she works hard but loves to see the students calling in for a chat.

Ann Martin (Oasis café Co-ordinator)

Picture of Ann Martin

Ann manages the Oasis café at the Centre. The aim of the Oasis is to offer good food at affordable prices in a friendly atmosphere. Here students can get to meet friends (if they’re a fresher) or just catch up on what everybody has been doing. An additional plus is that students get a free lunch if they sign up to work at the cafe for an hour. (Contact Ann if you’re interested)

The Chaplaincy staff are here to help you and if you have any problems in your University life then they are happy to help you through it with advice, counselling or by helping you find the right person to help.
